Cairo, December 8, 2018: H.E. Dr. Ali Moselhi, Minister of Supply, visited Juhayna’s booth at the 4th Africa Food exhibition, the foremost international food-manufacturing exhibition in the African region. The event was held at Cairo International Conference Center and attended by a large number of local and international food processing specialists.

Maselhi praised Juhayna’s efforts in fortifying the Egyptian food industry, highlighting the importance of participation in such events to exchange the sector’s latest technological experiences with the participating countries.

The participation this year came in line with Juhayna’s strategy, which places exports at the forefront of its priorities, as well as its belief in the promising trade opportunities in Africa. Juhayna’s exports represent 6% of its sales in 2017 with the aim of increasing the percentage in 2018.

The exhibition is considered one of the exceptional platforms, which helps stimulate the food export industry and opens up new markets for Egyptian products, especially in Africa that is distinguished for its strategic and central position in the world.

Juhayna is always keen to participate in exhibitions as they are considered real platforms that portray foreign markets’ requirements and provide the company with product specifications that meet international standards. The exhibition’s role is to help reduce imports and improve the quality of Egyptian products, thus contributing to invading new export horizons. This goal is in line with Egypt’s 2030 Vision, which aims to boost Egyptian exports and establish Egypt as an active country in international markets, said Passant Fouad, head of the external relations department at Juhayna.

This year Food Africa’s timing is distinctive as it coincides with the Africa 2018 Forum held in cooperation with COMESA Regional Investment Agency, which emphasizes the efforts done by all sectors to promote African investments and achieve development and effective cooperation among African countries, which positively affects African citizens, added Fouad.

Juhayna aims to open new African markets along with its existing markets in Palestine, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Libya, Ethiopia, Mauritania, Mauritius and East Africa (Somalia, South Sudan, Congo and Seychelles).
